Machine Makes No Ice

This is the most common complaint. Work through this checklist before assuming a mechanical failure:

Ice Is Too Small or Hollow

Small, thin, or hollow bullet ice cubes indicate the freezing cycle is completing too quickly. This is usually an environmental or water issue, not a mechanical failure.

Too-warm water: Adding warm or room-temperature water forces the compressor to work harder. Use cold tap water or chilled filtered water for best results.

High ambient temperature: Operating above 85°F reduces the machine's effective refrigeration capacity, leading to incomplete freezing. Ensure adequate ventilation and keep the machine in a cool space.

Mineral buildup: Scale deposits on the freezing rods reduce their heat transfer efficiency. Run a citric acid cleaning cycle. Ice cube size often improves immediately after descaling.

Ice Has Bad Taste or Smell

Ice that smells musty, stale, or chemically unpleasant is almost always a water quality or cleanliness issue:

Stagnant water: If the machine has been unused for several days with water in the reservoir, the water can develop a stale taste. Empty and refill with fresh water before each use after extended storage.

Mineral deposits: Hard water scale creates a chalky or metallic taste. Descale with citric acid or a commercial ice maker cleaner. Switching to filtered water prevents recurrence.

Mold or algae: Pink or black discoloration in the reservoir indicates biological growth. Deep clean with citric acid, rinse thoroughly, and run 2–3 rinse cycles before using ice again.

Machine Is Leaking

Check the drain plug first. The EUHOMY has a drain plug on the bottom of the machine. If this is loose, not fully seated, or missing, water will leak from the bottom. Inspect it before assuming an internal leak.

Overfilled reservoir: Filling above the MAX line causes overflow during operation. Only fill to the indicated maximum water line.

Condensation: In humid environments, the outside of the machine may collect condensation. This is normal and not a true leak — wipe the exterior with a dry cloth.

Internal leak: If water is leaking from the back or sides of the machine with the drain plug in place, contact EUHOMY customer service. This may indicate a refrigerant line or internal water line issue covered under warranty.

Unusual Noises

Machine Won't Turn On

Check the power outlet: Test the outlet with another device. A tripped GFCI outlet (common in kitchens) can cut power. Press the reset button on the outlet.

Power-cycle the machine: Unplug for 60 seconds, then plug back in. This resets the control board and clears temporary errors.

Check for water in the machine: If the machine was stored upside down or on its side, water may have entered the electronics. Allow 24 hours upright before trying again.

Warranty claim: If the machine is under warranty and won't power on after these steps, contact EUHOMY customer support for a replacement.

When In Doubt, Clean First

The majority of EUHOMY ice maker performance issues — reduced output, small ice, bad taste, machine pausing mid-cycle — are resolved by a thorough cleaning cycle. The machine's self-cleaning mode handles most routine maintenance automatically.
